Attractive matted silk of Hall of Famer Tris Speaker of Boston. While resembling an S81 silk in size and overall appearance this is actually part of an S110 silk pillow top cut at the edges and matted in a modern matte. Likely cut away from the pillow top years ago the resulting display is quite attractive the colorful image of speaker set against a stark white background blemished only by some age-related staining along the left. S110 pillow tops are far more rare than S81 silks and despite the fact that this represents just one-fifth of the subjects on the pillow top (each of two baseball-related pillow tops contained five player images) its rarity makes it a desirable memorabilia item.
