Distributed in bags of peanuts at Athletic Park in Vancouver between 1932 and 1938 this is an incredibly rare issue depicting players from the Vancouver Senior City League of the 1930s and 40s. The league which played its games in Athletic Park owned by Vancouver"s "Mr. Baseball " Bob Brown was an amateur league that attracted serious talent players from American colleges often spent their summers playing in the league and many of its players moved on to the Pacific Coast League. This very rare card one of just six examples from the entire set to have been graded by SGC depicts Arnold & Quigley third baseman H. Macdonald. Sadly Macdonald"s first name for now is lost to history as is the rest of his information. Graded GOOD 30 by SGC the card has multiple creases across the front and has a somewhat faded image however the importance of this card for type collectors lies in its rarity. It is our hope that the winning bidder on this card researches Mr. Macdonald and gets back to us with some information on the man and his career; we like to make a point of identifying the players who"s cardboard we offer in our auctions and this is no exception. This is the only Macdonald to be graded. An extraordinarily rare card from a set chronicling a long-forgotten league.
