Exceptionally large and clear photo measuring 44" x 8" depicting attendees at the 1927 Walther League picnic. Depicting several ballplayers in uniform with equipment surrounded by what appear to be spectators this panoramic photo has been stored in a tube for what appears to be a long time and is thus quite curled (the dark lines in the photo that you see on the left and right borders are simply the edges of a large piece of clear plastic that we had to place over the photo to keep it in place for photography; the actual photo does not contain those lines nor does it lie flat). Our Nebraska baseball expert tells us that the Walther League was some sort of organization affiliated with the Lutheran Church but little else is known about the origin of the photo. Still an extremely interesting piece in excellent condition.
