Attractive 1927 Chicago Cubs season pass as issued to Dorothy Root wife of the Cubs pitcher Charlie. Perhaps best known as the pitcher who served up Babe Ruth's "Called Shot" in the 1932 World Series Root was an outstanding pitcher for the Cubs winning 26 games during the 1927 campaign and winning 201 during a 17-year career with the team. He remained married to Dorothy until his passing in 1970; she was a regular at Cubs games and the Sporting News actually wrote an article about Dorothy in 1939 calling them "baseball's ideal family."
