3 1/2" x 5 1/2" postcard thusly named due to being printed versions of the photos that appear on the 1911 T5 Pinkerton Cabinets. While they may or may not have a connection to the T5 cabinets we do know that while the Pinkerton cabinet set contains hundreds of subjects there were nowhere near that many Pinkerton postcards issued. This example of Cubs outfielder Mike Mitchell sports an outstanding action photo of Mitchell sprinting after a hit or fly ball. The speedster Mitchell finished his career with 202 stolen bases and a .340 lifetime on base percentage across an 8-year career spent mostly with Cincinnati. Documenting Mitchell as a member of the Cubs dates this postcard to 1913 the only season he spent in Chicago (and a partial one at that). Graded VG 40 by SGC due to discoloration and light wear at the edges and corners the image itself is strong and clear an excellent shot of a very good player.Population DataSGC Population: 5 total graded 1 at this level 1 higherPSA Population: None graded
