Produced on extremely thin paper the 1914 Cracker Jack issue while one of the most beautiful baseball card sets ever issued is also one of the most fragile. In addition to being susceptible to all manner of paper damage due to the lightweight paper the cards are also typically found covered in caramel stains from being placed inside Cracker Jack boxes with little or no protection from the confection itself. This specimen of Hall of Fame manager/first baseman Frank Chance is one such example. Graded PR 1 by PSA the card is riddled with wear at the corners and edges but also the surface. A tear mars the face of the card around Chance"s eye and caramel stains are visible throughout. A very important card Chance is the only Hall of Famer that appears in the 1914 Cracker Jack set but not the 1915 issue thereby resulting in an extremely high demand for this card. With eye appeal stronger than the assigned grade (despite the card"s obvious flaws) this is an outstanding opportunity for the Cracker Jack collector to obtain a more affordable example of a very difficult card.
