The 1980-81 Perez-Steele Hall of Fame Art Cards series ushered in an era of collectible postcard-sized pieces of illustration art that has brought us the likes of the NFL Goal Line Art series the Hockey Hall of Fame's "Legends of Hockey" series and of course the Perez-Steele "Great Moments" cards. The Hall of Fame Art Cards were arguably the most elegant however featuring 180 beautiful full-color postcard-sized portraits of Hall of Fame members suitable for autographs or simply for collecting unsigned. Just 10 000 sets were made. Naturally the beauty of the cards made them prime real estate for autographs and collectors quickly began attempting to complete sets. Of the set's 180 cards 104 signatures of Hall of Fame players are possible. Presented here is a complete set containing 91 of the possible 104 signatures plus signatures of George HW Bush Dick Perez Peggy Steele and Frank Steele. The set includes some mixed serial numbers but in the case of a collection like this it is certainly the number of signatures that are important.
