Attractive 1951 Bowman complete set from the Texas Find consisting of 252 cards that were initially stored in a photo album and subsequently were transferred to traditional plastic sheets. While the transfer to plastic did result in dinged and flipped corners the result is not as detrimental to the overall condition as it was with the 1949 and 1950 sets; it seems as if the collector may have taken more care with this set than with the others. The result is that the technical grade of this issue is slightly higher than the others with approximately 16% grading VG/EX 37% grading VG; 33% grading GOOD; 12% grading FAIR and 2% grading lesser. We have taken the liberty of having five cards graded by PSA. They are: #1 Whitey Ford PSA GOOD+ 2.5; #2 Yogi Berra PSA VG-EX 4; #165 Ted Williams PSA VG-EX 4; #253 Mickey Mantle (RC) PSA FAIR 1.5; and #305 Willie Mays (RC) PSA VG 3. Overall strong eye appeal characterizes the bulk of this set as their storage in the photo album for decades protected the card surfaces from much wear and deterioration. Corner and edge wear is evident with corner flips from being inserted into the plastic sheets being a primary condition issue. Still this is a beautiful midgrade set including the rookie cards of both Mickey Mantle and Hank Aaron from their original owner. 252 cards total.
