Well-worn real photo postcard featuring a player identified in ink at the bottom as "J. L. Mitchell" of the Louisville Mohawk Giants. Our research has uncovered little on the team; the completeness of the uniform and quality of the player's spikes and glove would be an indication that the team was well-funded and likely competitive. Significant writing on the reverse fails to provide more detail on the team. The postcard itself is in poor condition several corner clips and a large tear repaired with clear tape combined with the aforementioned writing significant staining and soiling and some moderate foxing. Despite all these flaws the quality of the image is strong the player's facial expression clear with outstanding contrast.
