In the Spring of 2015 we offered an example of this wonderful Honus Wagner RPPC that had been sold at auction five years prior as a "one of one" example. Though we did research the card and were unable to find another example within hours of the auction going live a collector emailed us with a scan of an identical postcard meaning we were offering one of at least two. Presented here is a third example consigned to us at the National this summer. Ungraded when we received it we submitted it to SGC and received the GOOD+ grade due largely to the diagonal line of discoloration in the top left corner of the postcard front also slightly visible on the reverse. Despite the line it is a stunning card featuring Wagner in full uniform clearly toward the end of his career the rigors of professional sports written plainly on his face. Despite this Wagner maintains a regal quality about him authoritatively gazing at the photographer while still casually resting. Postally unused the rare card retains sensational image quality a beautifully-composed and well-executed photograph.
