Absolutely spectacular studio photo of Hall of Famer Ray Schalk as photographed by the Moffett studio. Measuring approximately 9 7/8" x 13 1/2" from border to border the sepia-toned photo depicts a dapper Schalk in formall attire in a studio setting. This very photo was used for Schalk's entry in the premier edition of Who's Who in Major League Baseball which was published in 1933. The photo is in EX-MT condition with a slight blemish along the right edge and some minor edge and corner wear throughout. THe photo has been stored in its original Moffett Studios envelope which is constructed of heavy textured cardboard. The envelope has some mild discolorations and a slight tear in the front however has protected the photograph wonderfully. One of the most beautiful studio photos of a Hall of Famer we have ever seen rivaling the Ed Walsh photo we offered in our earliest auction. Simply gorgeous.
