Of the four different Ty Cobb cards available in the T206 issue the "Green Background" portrait card of Ty Cobb is the most popular and certainly the most difficult to obtain. With even the lowest-grade examples highly coveted by collectors a collector grade specimen with outstanding eye appeal such as this one is highly desirable. Excessively rounded and chipped corners are evident as is some modest soiling and surface wear (including an abrasion at Cobb's breast in the lower-third of the card) the primary culprit accounting for the grade is significant staining on the reverse likely from glue used to mount the card in a scrapbook. Still strong aesthetic appeal make this a very attractive card.
