One of the largest and most popular strip card sets of the 1920s the W514 set included 120 cards with artwork created by redrawing player photos and colorizing them. Issued in strips of 10 cards the cards were often crudely parsed from their strips by inexperienced hands children clearly unaware of the valuable collectibles they were destroying for future generations. The end result is a host of poor condition cards from a set that includes not just Babe Ruth but Joe Jackson two of the most valuable strip cards in the hobby. This collection of 33 cards from the set is a mixed bag condition-wise with the inevitable poor condition cards complete with tears creases and overall wear. Some cards appear VG or even better however despite the fact that the overall condition of the collection is F-P.Included in the collection: #1 Flagstead #4 Lavan #5 Douglas #6 Neale #7 Nunamaker #9 Hendrix #14 Fletcher #16 Southworth #21 Maranville (HOF) #25 Collins (HOF) #26 O"Neil #27 Fisher #28 Bressler #30 Bush #32 Zeider #33 Gregg #34 Huggins (HOF) #38 Eller #40 Bancroft (HOF) #52 McGraw (HOF) #59 Cullop #61 Jacobson #64 Hooper (HOF) #63 Alexander (HOF) #66 Bodie #80 Greiner #85 Rousch (HOF) #93 Konetchy #96 Mitchell #113 Stengel (HOF) #116 Shean #118 Kopf #119 Whiteman. An excellent start on one of the largest strip card sets ever manufactured.
