Beautiful supplement as issued by the Chicago Examiner on April 26 1914 featuring a team photo of the Chicago Whales of the fledgling Federal League. The Whales were the original inhabitants of Wrigley Field and were owned by Charles Weeghman. The club featured future Hall of Famer Joe Tinker one of the first stars of the era to jump to the Federal League. The supplement measuring approximately 14 7/8" x 9 1/4" presents extremely well but technically grades FAIR due to significant wrinkling along with some edge wear that has resulted in small notches of paper loss along the top edge. A very mild stain is visible at the top of the image just underneath the letter "A" in "Federal." The wear does not however interfere with the quality of the photo or the player identification underneath. Federal League memorabilia is highly sought-after as the short life span of the league makes for very few collectibles among its various teams.
