Issued by the Collins-McCarthy (or Collins-Hencke) Candy Co of San Francisco Zeenut cards featured Pacific Coast League players and were inserted into boxes of Home Run Kisses Ruf-Neks and of course Zeenuts. Each card featured a small coupon at the bottom that was designed to be redeemed for prizes; since most were redeemed it is very difficult to find copies with the coupon still attached. The Zeenut cards remain popular and elusive today attracting the attention not only of type card collectors but also of PCL collectors.Presented is a key card of the 1932 Zeenut set: while Zeenuts are highly collectible to begin with Henry Oana as a Hawaiian-born player is somewhat of a celebrity among Zeenuts collectors. "The Hawaiian Prince " an outstanding hitter and sometime pitcher played pro ball for 23 years mostly in the Pacific Coast League winning fans in the early 1930s as a member of the Portland Beavers and San Francisco Seals. The father of our consignor watched Oana play with the Seals and reported that Henry had a cannon for an arm. The highest-graded example currently available this is a highly collectible card from a unique beautiful and scarce card type.Population Data:SGC Population: 7 total graded one at this level none higher.PSA Population: none graded.
