Nicknamed "The Fighting Dentist" (because he was of course a boxer and a dentist) Leach Cross began fighting as a way to pick up extra cash while attending dental school at New York University. He continued to fight professionally while maintaining his dental practice. While researching cross we came across an interesting story on the Jewish Boxing blog jewishboxing.blogspot.com that in 2011 Cross fought Knockout Brown in the process knocking out Brown"s teeth. Brown had his teeth repaired by Cross after the fight.His card is a solid VG example with strong edges and relatively square corners a moderate crease in the upper-right being the card"s primary flaw. Held at an angle in light the card"s surface is also marred by some type of a clear stain; perhaps bits of mold that were once adhered to the card and removed. Still the card boasts exceptional appearance a strong example of a card from one of the hobby"s most popular issues.
