Legendary Hall of Fame pitcher Charles "Chief" Bender won 212 games in a 16-year career mostly with Connie Mack"s Philadelphia Athletics. His .821 winning percentage in 1910 a result of a 23-5 record and a 1.58 earned run average helped the A"s win the 1910 World Series. At this time this card was produced Bender was one of the greatest pitchers in baseball and certainly one of the most popular.
