Legendary Hall of Fame pitcher Charles "Chief" Bender won 212 games in a 16-year career mostly with Connie Mack"s Philadelphia Athletics. His .821 winning percentage in 1910 a result of a 23-5 record and a 1.58 earned run average helped the A"s win the 1910 World Series. At this time this card was produced Bender was one of the greatest pitchers in baseball and certainly one of the most popular. Bender was one of the first pitchers to ever throw a slider (which he called the "nickel curve").This card like most of the other T3s in the collection we are offering in our winter and spring auctions boasts a crisp clean surface. This example does exhibit some minor staining on the top right but it is the corner wear most responsible for the GOOD+ grade assessed by PSA. Featuring the second series checklist back the reverse is clean and unblemished. An excellent opportunity to acquire a difficult and beautiful example of a key Hall of Famer.Population DataPSA Population: 46 total graded 1 at this level 33 higherSGC Population: 9 total graded 0 at this level 5 higher
