"Sleepy" Bill Burns known for his lazy demeanor on the mound was also an instrumental player in the Black Sox Scandal of 1919 (years after his retirement) relaying messages back and forth between the players and Arnold Rothstein. This is an exceptionally high-grade Turkey Red cabinet one of the nicest you are likely to see. Graded EX-MT 6 by PSA only 48 examples of ANY T3 have graded higher. This card is virtually unblemished with a slight hint of edge wear on the left very slight corner touches and some minor fading to the reverse. The card looks brand new as if it were just issued and placed on top of a box of shiny modern Topps cards. Still it"s a real actual T3 one of the highest-grade copies in existence and certainly a low pop treasure: of 31 copies of the Burns card to have been graded by PSA just one copy has attained the same level and just one has graded higher. An extraordinary card one of the most attractive in the wonderful collection of T3s we will be featuring in our winter and spring auctions.Population DataPSA Population: 31 total graded 2 at this level 1 higherSGC Population: 6 total graded 0 at this level 0 higher
