Distributed by Sweet Caporal cigarettes between 1909 and 1912 the "Domino" discs are thus named due to the presence of the image of a white domino on the reverse of the disc. Measuring 1 1/8" in diameter each of the discs is constructed of thin cardboard encased inside a metal rim. Relatively obscure today the 129-disc set included many of the stars of the T206 era and included several team variations to add to the challenge of completion. Presented is the set's key that of Ty Cobb. The Domino Disc issue contained two variations of Cobb's disc - one with the "D" on his cap and one without. Both discs are valued identically with no particular level of scarcity applied to either variation. This example features a clean image of Cobb with some wear around the disc as well as along the surface of the piece. One of the more obscure collectibles of Cobb associated with the early 1900s tobacco issues.
