In an effort to recapture the success of their landmark 1933 issue the Goudey Gum Company issued the first 24 cards in their 1938 "Heads Up" set beginning with card #241 as if to continue the numbering where the 1933 set left off. Claiming to be part of a 288-card set the first 24 cards featured caricature images of their subjects bringing the "set" to 265 cards. The next series however included those same 24 subjects with identical caricature images surrounded by cartoons relating biographical information on each subject. The second-series card reverses claimed each card to be one of 312 subjects but no more cards were issued beyond the initial 48. Included here are ten attractive collector-grade examples from the issue including several desirable Hall of Famers. Representing 20% of a complete set each card is particularly clean and attractive for the grade. Each card has been graded by PSA.
