G-VG card from one of the more attractive and underrated 19th Century baseball issues. Measuring 4 1/8" x 2 1/2" each card from the set contains a full-color lithograph of a ballplayer or team with a clever or humorous play on words illustrated on the right. Since the players are not identified on the card itself the issue has not captured the attention of collectors the way many other sets of the period have. However they remain a beautiful example of lithographic baseball art of the period. The card appears much stronger in condition than the assigned grade easily more of a VG/EX to EX card. However like many cards from the period this exhibits mild staining on the reverse consistent with having been stored in a scrapbook. Said staining while clearly visible does not interfere with the eye appeal of the card nor the legibility of the reverse.
