I have one to sell!
Issued between 1890 and 92 by the Nelson Morris company promoting their Lily Leaf brand of lard this colorful advertising trade card depicts a group of pigs playing baseball in front of other porcine spectators a number of other pigs in the background sitting in (or falling out of) trees watching the game. The Chicago-based company printed their product line on the reverse leaving space for price to be written in for "tierces" (a unit of measurement) of lard. Measuring 3 3/8" x 6 1/8" the interesting and humorous card grades an apparent G due to some creasing at the lower-left corner and some age-related soiling; a small amount of very light pencil markings on the reverse also contribute to the condition.
