Attractive but low-grade card of Portland Beavers pitcher Elmer Koestner. Koestner who went 25-15 with a 2.62 ERA for the 1911 Beavers managed a ten-season minor league career while pitching two seasons in the majors: 1910 with Cleveland and 1914 split between Chicago and Cincinnati. In ten minor league seasons largely in the PCL Koestner compiled a 153-172 record. Like many of the other oversized PCL cards in the Rudy Strejc Collection this card contains a small pinhole at the top along with some creasing on the face. The reverse also exhibits a small stain.
