Gorgeous trio of games commemorating historic events in the history of the Milwaukee Brewers (of which there are not many). Opened in 1953 Milwaukee County Stadium was used primarily as a baseball stadium for the Braves and then the Brewers originally intended to be a home for the Brewers of the American Association. The Boston Braves struggling in Boston applied for permission to relocate to Milwaukee just before the 1953 season and moved in time for their opener on April 14 against the Cardinals. The Brewers continued to play at County Stadium until plans for a new stadium were made for a 2000 opening. Initially the final game at Milwaukee County Stadium was to be played at the end of the 1999 season. The final game was intended to take place on September 3 1999 against the St. Louis Cardinals. A construction accident on July 14 however damaged a significant part of the construction site and delayed the closing of County Stadium til 2000. Ultimately the final game at County Stadium was played on September 28 2000 against the Reds with the Reds defeating the Brewers 8-1 behind a complete game effort from Elmer Dessens. The opening night of the Brewers' new Miller Park took place on Friday April 6 2001 against the Reds. Milwaukee won the game by a 5-4 margin scoring one run in the bottom of the 8th to break a tie with closer David Weathers getting the save. Presented are three full tickets - the first from the originally-planned final game on September 3 1999 and the second from the game that would wind up being the last at County Stadium on September 28 of 2000. The third ticket is from the opening game at Miller Park on April 6 2001. All three tickets display wonderfully in outstanding condition with the September 3 1999 ticket suffering from some minor corner wear that reduces the technical grade to VG/EX without disrupting the ticket's eye appeal.
