Pair of 8" x 10" photo premiums featuring the popular Cleveland pitcher issued by the Thom McAn shoe company in 1948. The reverse of each piece contains a baseball quiz for young fans to test their knowledge of the game. This is a seldom-seen promotional piece that we had not encountered until it was consigned to us for this auction. Printed on lightweight paper the nicer of the two pieces grades roughly in VG/EX condition with some minor wear to the corners. The second grades FAIR with some folds and creases that are clearly visible. Two very interesting promotional pieces featuring one of the most popular pitchers of his era.
