What more can be said about the Patron Saint of Love of the Game Auctions that hasn't already been said? The man embodies everything we stand for - and as odd as that sounds its completely true. For more than two years we have featured a Don Mossi item in each auction as a way of writing goofy auction descriptions that poke fun of the unflattering photos that grace Mossi's baseball cards. But at the end of the day we're not being vicious or mean-spirited we're actually having fun with baseball. Because we love baseball. We love the stories we love the legends we love the game itself. Its players and its characters become a part of us and we play along. Mossi's nickname during his playing days was "Ears." And by recognizing that we're playing along - we're adopting some of the legend joining the fun and recognizing part of what makes the game great. As we were putting together this auction we received an email from a consignor asking a simple question: Do you have a Don Mossi item yet? Turned out that we hadn't. And our consignor a wonderfully generous man who has been a long-time friend and fellow collector popped this beautiful PSA 8 Mossi rookie in the mail for us. Our consignors and our bidders are looking out for us making sure we don't break tradition and hold an auction without a Don Mossi item. That speaks volumes to us because in our opinion it means that our customers are joining us in our Love of the Game.
