Type III wire photo depicting future Hall of Famers Casey Stengel and Mickey Mantle beside a multitude of Yankees rookies in 1951. Mantle is all smiles as he prepares for his first major league season at the age of only nineteen years old. An associated caption our research found among related images reads:

"The New York Yankee's baseball school came to an end with Casey Stengel, the champion team's Manager, announcing that six of the rookies will be staying on for the regular spring training. Casey at right is shown talking to the six rookies. They are from left to right: Bob Wieslser; Gil McDougald; Tom Morgan; Al Robertson; Andy Carey and Mickey Mantle."

Photo measures approx. 7.5" x 4.25" with visible heavy creasing at the lower-left corner and general handling wear throughout, though not immediately apparent upon inspection. Verso remains blank aside from two pencil notations and an area of adhesive residue at the center. Authenticated and encapsulated as a Type III Acme Telephoto wire photo by PSA/DNA.
