1952 Brooklyn Dodgers team photo shot shortly after the Dodgers secured their third pennant in the last six seasons (1947, 1949, 1952). Jackie Robinson, who shattered Major League Baseball's color line in 1947, stands fifth from the left in the middle row. Joining him are five additional future Hall of Famers in Roy Campanella, Gil Hodges, Pee Wee Reese, Duke Snider, and Dick Williams along with their Dodgers teammates. Brooklyn nearly secured a National League pennant the prior year, famously dropping the final game of the regular season to the Giants thanks to Bobby Thomson's "Shot Heard 'Round the World." In 1952 the Dodgers left no doubt, winning the National League pennant over those same Giants by four games. Here, the Dodgers pose with a banner displaying the words "1952 Brooklyn Dodgers National League Champions" prior to heading into the World Series against the hated New York Yankees. Some visible creasing at the corners with a modern label from the Pee Reese Library affixed to verso and Barney Stein's personal credit stamping applied below. Authenticated and encapsulated as a Type I photo by PSA/DNA.
