A right-winger, Harry Hyland played for the Montreal Royals of both the NHA and NHL from 1909-18 while also skating for the Ottawa Senators during the NHL's inaugural season of 1917-18. Hyland is known for scoring the first hat trick in NHL history, which occurred during his five-goal game on December 19, 1917 - the NHL's first-ever day of play. A Hockey Hall of Famer, Hyland was inducted in 1962. This 1910 Sweet Caporal Hockey Postcard of Hyland, #30 in the set, exhibits rounding at the corners with visible silvering towards edges of the photo's surface. Still, a beautiful card with clean and attractive front and reverse. Graded GOOD 2 by PSA it remains one of only 10graded examples across both PSA and SGC's population reports combined.
Please note: our printed catalog displays "RC" in the title indicating rookie card status. This is in-fact considered a second year card for Hyland, consistent with his C55 issue.
