Collection of 22 original snapshot photos from George "Shotgun" Shuba's time with the Southern Association's Mobile Bears (1945-49). Mobile served as an A1 minor league affiliate for the Brooklyn Dodgers in 1945, graduating to AA ball the following season where they remained until the Southern Association folded in 1961. Two of the included photos are attributed to 1945 on reverse, with one identifying the depicted player as Barney White, who appeared in four games for the wartime Brooklyn Dodgers that season. Shuba himself, of course, was an outfielder for the Brooklyn Dodgers from 1944-55 and he is prominently featured throughout this collection. Shuba appears in no less than 11 of the images, one of which is duplicated, another triplicated. Some typical gentle wear throughout the group with one of the triplicated examples showing a heavier crease than the others (not shown). Photos measure between approx. 3.25" x 4.5" to 3.5" x 5". 22 snapshots total.
