Group of 18 original photos from the personal collection of former Brooklyn Dodgers pitcher, Clyde King. Taken by official Brooklyn Dodgers photographer, Barney Stein, these images hail from March of 1947 as the Dodgers and Montreal Royals trained in Havana, Cuba. Significantly, Jackie Robinson was still in camp with Montreal, not the Dodgers, at this time, having shattered professional baseball's color line the previous season when he debuted for the Montreal Royals on April 18, 1946 against the Jersey City Giants at Roosevelt Stadium in NJ. Jackie would then be promoted to the Brooklyn Dodgers just five days before start of the 1947 regular season, famously integrating Major League Baseball on April 15, 1947, Opening Day at Ebbets Field.

Collection includes: ) Burt Shotten at piano surrounded by the Brooklyn Dodgers ) Clyde Sukeforth with Billy Southworth ) Bobby Bragan ) Branch Rickey with Burt Shotten ) Ralph Branca ) Five Dodgers catchers pose, including rookie Gil Hodges (second from left) ) Leo Durocher ) ) Four unidentified Dodgers players training at third base ) Spider Jorgensen ) Pete Reiser ) Rex Barney and Carl Furillo get their shoes shined ) Seven Dodgers during a bunting workout ) Eddie Stanky

18 photos total from the lead-up to one of baseball's most historic seasons.
