Lot Description  

Attractive, large-format and double-sided thin aluminum printing plate used to produce Picturegrams news pieces. This large (approximately 23" x 19") but lightweight plate includes green-tinted halftone imagery and typography. Side 1) 1950 Philadelphia Phillies: Phillies team image that includes the 1950 pennant-winning team, including future Hall of Famers Richie Ashburn and Robin Roberts. VG condition with some age-related wrinkling. Side 2) 1947 New York Yankees: attractive team image picturing the 1947 team, featuring future Hall of Famers Phil Rizzuto, Yogi Berra, and Joe DiMaggio. VG/EX condition with some surface abrasions and modest staining. A unique double-sided printing plate with one team image on each side.
