1920s two-way player Juanelo Mirabal made an unconventional move from USA to Cuba for his baseball education and developed the skills to succeed early, already pitching well for (and against) professional black baseball squads by his mid-teens. He moved into league front offices after retiring as a player, finding success with multiple franchises.
