The 2007 Futures game featured a team of US-born "futures" against a group from a variety of countries, in a showcase of young baseball talent. The US team featured the likes of Clayton Kershaw, Evan Longoria, Clay Buchholz, Joba Chamberlain, Juston Upton and Cameron Maybin. The World team featured Carlos Carrasco, Elvis Andrus, Freddy Sandoval, Joey Votto, and more. Presented here is a baseball used in that game, which was won by the World team, 7-2, with Joey Votto and James Van Ostrand hitting home runs for the World club, and Justin Upton and John Whittleman doing the same for the US team. Chamberlain pitched one inning in the game, giving up a single run. The Taawlings Official Major League (Selig) Futures game ball ball is scuffed from use, a well-worn memento from the "coming out" party of many major league players, and future Hall of Famer Clayton Kershaw.
