Enormous collection of color snapshots related to the San Francisco Giants tour of Japan in 1970. Originating from the personal collection of Giants manager at the time, Mr. Clyde King, the images show many members of his club in the land of the rising sun, including Hall of Famers Willie Mays, Willie McCovey, and Juan Marichal. Several shots also provide an interesting look at Japanese professional players in uniform with the Lotte Orions and Yomiuri Giants. 45 photos in the collection feature on-field activities and/or players in uniform, while 55 others were clearly taken during leisure time, sightseeing tours, or while with Japanese dignitaries. Photos range in size from 3.5" x 3.5" to 3.5" x 5" with most falling somewhere inbetween. Several photos do include date stamps within the bottom border incorrectly attributing the images to April and May, though the Giants are known to have visited Japan in March of 1970.
