Well-worn pair of Wilson cleats used by Brooklyn Dodgers pitcher Clyde King. The cleats have been heavily reinforced at the right toe with a strip of heavy leather sewn in, to accommodate the wear and tear exerted on a shoe by a right-handed pitcher drags his right foot while delivering a pitch. Black leather shoes are light years from today's technology, constructed of simple, stiff leather with metal cleats attached to the soles underneath. King's name has been written inside the tongue. Though the cleats have not been authenticated by any third party, they are undoubtedly authentic and guaranteed as such, as they have been consigned by King's family.
