Black Sox cards remain in high demand and this is a great opportunity to lock up one of those implicated players on cards released as the event itself unfolded. The three year span for W514 strip cards perfectly covers the thrown 1919 World Series, a 1920 season of swirling rumors, and then 1921 banishment of those eight men, including Chick Gandil.

While a small number of W514 strips bear a stamped promotional message for Barker Bread on the back, many of those were mounted in an album and later removed. The SGC AUTHENTIC grade reflects its hand cut edges and this paper loss from the back. The full message reads:

"Safe at the Home Plate 
Eat 
Barker Bread."

The current SGC population report shows this is their only graded example.
