Attractive cabinet photo measuring approximately 9" x 7" depicting game action, with New Haven's West Rock as the backdrop. The photo pictures the grandstands, crowd, and at least 14 visible players. Writing on the reverse suggests the photo was taken in 1882 by the famous Pach Brothers studio, though there is no real way to confirm either the photographer or the date.  However, it is possible that Walter Camp played in this game and is visible on the field, though again there is no real way to confirm this. Photo is in outstanding condition with some light areas of foxing and staining, the cardboard mount trimmed right to the edges of the photo itself. In-game action shots from the 19th Century are particularly rare, and this is a crisp example.
