c.1930's Type I photo of Jimmie Foxx and Hank Greenberg, two of the games preeminent sluggers, with five American League MVP awards between them. Shot at Fenway Park in Boston, the first basemen are pictured with their lumber during a quiet moment, presumably prior to a contest between their clubs. Elected to the Hall of Fame in 1950, Foxx became the second man in history to join the 500 Home Run Club (Babe Ruth was the first) when he achieved the feat a decade prior. In 1956 Greenberg, a two-time World Series champion, became the first Jewish ballplayer elected to baseball's Hall of Fame. Sepia toned 8" x 10" photo exhibits some degree of creasing to all four corners and some cracking within the emulsion surface is apparent along the top edge. A handwritten inscription has been applied at center of verso declaring the two men "...leaders in home runs up to date." Includes full LOA from PSA/DNA.
