Interesting scorecard from Jackie Robinson's rookie season. Heavy wear and separation at the seams, the scorecard has come nearly completely apart. Originating from the collection of former Dodgers pitcher Clyde King, we could not, at first, understand the reason why King would have saved a beat-up scorecard from a relatively nondescript game, until we looked further into the game itself.  Clyde King was the game's starting pitcher, meeting up with the Pittsburgh Pirates, who sent their starting pitcher Mel Queen to the mound.  King vs. Queen!

Sadly, the game wasn't the chess match King had likely hoped for, as King made it through just five innings, surrendering three runs.  Pittsburgh ultimately one the game, 7-1, with Queen pitching a complete game.  Despite the game result, we find it interesting to have a window into the types of things that major league players save, and the fact that Clyde King would save this program for his entire life demonstrates a sense of humor.
