It is our opinion that the T201 Mecca Double Folder issue is the most underrated set in the prewar hobby. An outstanding player assortment, beautiful illustrations, interesting backdrops, stats on the card reverses and the unique "foldover" concept (where two different player images could be created on each card by folding the back of the card over the front) make this one of the most unique card sets of its time. The 50-card set features 100 different players including a host of Hall of Famers and some difficult cards. Presented here is a true "collector" set, a mixed set containing some specimens graded by PSA some by SGC and some ungraded. Most of the cards are in collector grades, averaging FAIR with some lesser. The key card of the issue, the Ty Cobb/Sam Crawford, is the finest of the group, grading VG 3 by SGC. The remaining graded cards are as follows: Brown/Hofman (PSA GOOD 2 MC), Cicotte/Thoney (SGC GD+ 2.5), Collins/Baker (PSA VG 3 MC), Huggins/Bresnahan (SGC GOOD 2), Lajoie/Falkenberg (SGC PR 1), Thomas/Coombs: PSA VG-EX 4 Due to the issue's relatively small size and reasonable price tag this is often the first prewar issue attempted by new entrants to the hobby. An outstanding opportunity to pick up a collector-grade set with some keys leaning towards the middle grades. 50 cards total.
