Approx. 2.5" x 3.5" snapshot photo of Joseph Paul DiMaggio standing with another man sometime between 1939-42. Photo remains in poor condition with rounded corners, several creases, and paper remnants affixed to bottom half of verso. Verso of photo includes several handwritten notations, one of which states: "Joe DiMaggio, Yankee Ball Club, Left Fielder." Research has revealed DiMaggio did record 64 games in left during his rookie season of 1936 prior to becoming the Yankees full-time center fielder. However, notations on verso provide and address at the top that reads: "West End Avenue + 79th St Penthouse," which correlates with DiMaggio's home from 1939-42. Photos found online of DiMaggio's home during that era do appear to match the bricks behind Joltin' Joe in this image. An interesting memento from the life of one of baseball's greatest stars.
