Clear, well-printed back variation for Successful Farming of Iowa, a scarce back variation from the M101-4/5 sets made by Felix Mendelssohn. The photo shows Roger Bresnahan, an innovative and decorated catcher who gained Cooperstown induction via the Old Timers Committee. This PSA FR 1.5 grade reflects rounded corners, creasing, and flaked ink along its bottom third. M101-4 back variations can prove exceedingly tough, so this is an accessible chance for collectors pursuing them! The population report shows this as the only graded Successful Farming #16.

M101-4 and M101-5 are sets Mendelssohn created with 200 ballplayers of the mid-1910s. Card backs often featuring ads from a range of stores and companies, no doubt for their own marketing purposes. This Successful Farming back shows in detail how the company incentivized magazine subscriptions with cards from their sets.
