Clear, well-printed back variation for Morehead Baking Co. from the M101-4/5 sets made by Felix Mendelssohn. The photo shows Hall of Fame pitcher Eppa Rixey in the Phillie kit where he spent the first half of his career, absorbing more losses than he might have on better teams. Its PSA VG-EX 4 grade reflects touched corners and the purple ink stamp on its reverse. M101-4 back variations can prove exceedingly tough, so this is an accessible chance for collectors pursuing them! The population report shows this as the only one graded for Morehouse Baking #142.

M101-4 and M101-5 are sets Mendelssohn created with 200 ballplayers of the mid-1910s. Card backs often featuring ads from a range of stores and companies, no doubt for their own marketing purposes. Contemporary advertising shows some stores giving groups of cards away as an incentive for in-person shopping and others sold their sets by mail order.
