1951 Type I photo of Jackie Roosevelt Robinson and Ted Kluszewski at Ebbets Field. Taken towards the middle of the season in Brooklyn, both men are bathed in sunlight as Jackie executes perfect technique while diving back to first. Jackie, who stole exactly 200 bags throughout his 11-season major league career, was able to successfully avoid the back-pick attempt from Cincinnati catcher, Dixie Howell. Photo surface remains clean and free from soiling or typical handling wear usually associated with news service photos of this type. Evidence of once being housed in an album with sticky pages is apparent on verso and visible through front of photo within the borders upon close inspection. Includes original paper caption from the Associated Press that has been dated to 7/15/51 when the Dodgers hosted the Reds for an afternoon doubleheader. From the personal collection of former Dodgers pitcher, Clyde King, who was teammates with Jackie Robinson in the late 1940's and early 1950's. Authenticated and encapsulated as a Type I photo by PSA/DNA.
