Type I team photo depicting the 1951 Brooklyn Dodgers who came within a single game of capturing the 1951 National League pennant. Shot at Ebbets Field, color line pioneer Jackie Robinson appears second from the left in the top row along with five other future Hall of Famers in Roy Campanella, Gil Hodges, Pee Wee Reese, Duke Snider, and Dick Williams. Each player is sporting the special patch worn by all NL teams in 1951 to commemorate the 75th Anniversary of the National League, definitively pinpointing this image to that season. Superb overall image quality with several markings in blue ballpoint scattered across left half of the photo's surface. Trace evidence of removal from an album with sticky pages appears on verso with two large areas of brown staining towards the left edge. Verso includes credit stamping from official Brooklyn Dodgers photographer, Barney Stein which has been applied at the top. A fresh to the hobby example recently discovered within the collection of former Brooklyn Dodgers pitcher, Clyde King. Authenticated and encapsulated as a Type I photo by PSA/DNA.
