1935 Type I photo of George Herman Ruth during the final season of his major league career. Ruth is in uniform with the Boston Braves, kneeling with a bat as he poses for cameras outside the batting cage. At the age of 40 Ruth would only ever appear in 28 games for Boston, with his final three home runs famously blasted on the same afternoon of May 25, 1935. The Babe would make his final appearance just five days later, having accumulated 714 home runs over his 22 seasons in the big leagues. Photo has survived in tremendous overall condition, free from obvious signs of wear to emulsion surface or verso. Credit stamping from Wide World has been applied at center of verso with a handwritten identifier of Ruth in pencil towards the top.
