Canadian candy maker O-Pee-Chee released this underrated die-cut baseball set on the heels of similar work by American card company National Chicle. Its checklist contains entirely players from American League teams and Jimmie Foxx is one of its top names. The SGC VG 3 grade reflects touched corners and small creases near the French text on its reverse that do not detract from the main image. (Note all 1937 cards come with its precut silhouette outline of the player.)
This O-Pee-Chee set as a whole is much scarcer than contemporary Goudey or National Chicle issues and many young collectors would have folded their cards at the die-cut, so clean, intact singles like this one prove hard to find today!
