Remarkable moment in time from the St. Louis Browns franchise, captured by a detailed 1906 postcard advertisment from Sporting Life magazine. This composite contains 18 team portraits, including star outfielder George Stone and the earliest appearance of future Hall of Fame executive Branch Rickey. The back of this splendid, nuanced piece features an informational stamp that told collectors how to obtain the full set.

The SGC FAIR 1.5 grade reflects a vertical crease, some staining on the reverse, and a modest number of discolored spots. Very few W601 composite postcards appear on graded card population reports, making this a specal opportunity to acquire one of the earliest appearances of such a consequential member of baseball history

The players shown are pitchers (Jack Powell, Harry Howell, Ed Smith, Fred Glade, Beany Jacobsen, Barney Pelty), catchers (Branch Rickey, Tubby Spencer, Jack O'Connor), infielders (Tom Jones, Pete O'Brien, Ray Hartzell, Bobby Wallace), outfielders (George Stone, Charlie Hemphill, Ben Koehler, Harry Niles), manager James McAleer, and president Robert Lee Hedges.
