Phenomenal wide angle original photograph of historic Braves Field in Boston, MA. Though home to the Boston Braves of the National League, the Boston Red Sox rented this park during both the 1915 and 1916 World Series where they faced the Philadelphia Phillies and Brooklyn Robins respectively. The presented Type I photo was captured during Game 1 of the 1916 Fall Classic against the Robins, with a crowd of 36,000+ filling the stands. A remarkable image captured from under the grandstand and up the first base line, offering an expansive look at the infield, and left field pavilion, as steam billows in the background. 8" x 10" photo exhibits areas of wear within top border and to the upper-right corner. A few pinholes are present, with mild toning to verso. Verso includes original paper caption, describing the scene from Game 1, that has been dated to 10/7/1916. Authenticated as a Type I photo by PSA/DNA and their LOA is included.
